We are a welcoming and inclusive school. We delight in celebrating the diversity we have here at St. John’s on a regular basis. We have several Newcomer children from a range of European and Asian countries who enhance our school life. We are very fortunate to have a ‘Transition Support Assistant’ in our school who assists our Newcomer children and their families to integrate fully into life here at St. John’s as well as allowing us to learn about the culture and traditions of our children’s native home. Our Year 6 and 7 Newcomer children act as buddies for our younger children to help them settle and adjust to life in our school.

We have recently been awarded 'Centre of Excellence in Inclusion'. We are only one of five schools in Northern Ireland to be recognised and awarded this prestigious accolade.
