On Wednesday 26th November 2014 the Minister of Education Mr John O’Dowd visited our school.

During the visit the Minister met staff, pupils, representatives from the Board of Governors and the Parents Association. The Minister was taken on a tour of the school by the principal Mr Kieran O’Neill, Chairperson of the Board of Governors Mr Liam McQuillan and the pupils from the School Council. The Minister said “It is a great pleasure to be here today to visit this School which has been an important part of the Coleraine community for decades. I have enjoyed dropping into lessons on healthy eating and art and seeing iPads and technology in action, as well as viewing a hurling/camogie session.”

The Minister also had the opportunity to see the new outdoor equipment sponsored by the Parent Teacher Association. The Minister said “There is a real sense of community here at St John’s that is supported by the Board of Governors and the Parent Teacher Association.
